Watch for double o. Often misspelled as to or two.

Sounds like, but is not: to, two. Same sound, different spelling and meaning.

Same family: also, as well, either, overly, excessively. If you can spell one, the shared part carries to the others.

Where it comes from: “Too” comes from Old English *tō*, which meant “in addition” or “further.” Over time, English split the old forms into three modern words—“to,” “too,” and “two”—which all sound the same but have different meanings and spellings.
