Watch for an unstressed vowel that is hard to hear. Often misspelled as inclduing or inlcuding.

Where it comes from: Including comes from the verb include, which entered English from Latin via French; the Latin root 'includere' means 'to shut in' or 'to enclose.' Over time, the idea of 'shutting in' became the modern sense of 'to be part of a group or whole.'
