How to spell everywhere
What it means: In all places or locations.
In a sentence: The cat looked for mice everywhere in the garden.
The part people get wrong
Often misspelled as everywere or everywher.
Same family: everyone, everything, everybody, everyday, everyplace. If you can spell one, the shared part carries to the others.
Where it comes from: “Everywhere” comes from the Old English phrase “æfre hwǣr,” which literally meant “ever where” or “at all places.” Over time the words were joined together into the single adverb we use today.
