What it means: All people; every individual.
In a sentence: Everyone enjoyed the picnic in the park.

Watch for an unstressed vowel that is hard to hear. Often misspelled as every one or everyonne.
Same family: everybody, everything, everywhere, everyday. If you can spell one, the shared part carries to the others.
Where it comes from: Everyone is a compound word formed from 'every' + 'one'. It became a single-word spelling in English around the 16th–17th centuries, as people started to use it more as a general pronoun meaning 'all people' rather than literally 'every single one.'
Patterns it uses: The unstressed vowel (schwa)
